Why do some children struggle with bow hold?

Many parents and teachers believe that the correct bow hold is learned simply by practicing a position.
But before that, there is a fundamental skill: fine motor development.
In the first lesson, Bolognani-Methode observes small everyday tasks that provide valuable information about a child’s development:
✔️ Does the child have enough finger strength to open a clothespin using only two fingers? ✔️ Do the fingers have the precision needed to peel off a sticker and place it on a marked spot?
These observations help us understand the developmental stage of each child.
If these skills are not yet developed, at Bolognani-Methode this becomes our first goal. It is the only way to build solid technique on a stable foundation.
Because every child learns differently, and good teaching must recognize what each child needs. Find our teacher resources in the Bolognani-Methode store.
